To stay competitive, more often than not, businesses find themselves in need of hiring foreign professionals.  Businesses have an array of available work visas to legally hire foreign nationals to join their workforce.  These vary and may have different requirements. Some of these visas include:

L-1 Visa

Defined as an intra-company transfer US visa, the L1 Visa permits a US company to transfer employees from one of its offices outside of the United States into the country. Currently, there are two types of L-1 visas:

L1-A Visa

• Managers
• Executives

L1-B Visa

• Specialized Employees

O-1 Visa

Person of Extraordinary Ability Visa O-1 Visa: The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration says “The O-1 non-immigrant visa is for the individual who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements.”

H-1B Visa

There are three types of people who may file petitions for this visa.  This visa requires individuals who petition to have a sponsor. 

• People who work in specialty occupations
• Professionals who are part of cooperative research for the Department of Defense
• Fashion models
