U.S. Citizenship

According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or USCIS, naturalization is “the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a foreign citizen or national after he or she fulfills the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).”

Applying for naturalization requires you to fill out and file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. The naturalization process consists two parts: an English test that assesses the applications grasp of the English language, and a civics exam that tests the applicant’s knowledge of American government and history.

If the applicant fails either component, the applicant can re-apply for naturalization an indefinite amount of times.

Applicants also must show that they have consistently lived in the United States for at least 5 years before filing the Form N-400. During this time, applicants must have only lived in the U.S. prior to filing the form.

Our firm is ready to help you through the naturalization process, from beginning to end. We will review any and all the documentation you submit to the government in order to become a naturalized citizen of the United States.
